Who are we?
Auspsych Australia commenced in 1992, with Jill Scott as a sole practitioner. It has since grown in size and scope, offering a variety of services to the South Australian community.

Jill is supported in her practice by her administrative staff:
– Kelly Bonser (Practice Manager)
– Laura Tobiassen (Office Assistant)
– Cassie Lawry (Office Assistant)
– Rush McKay (Office Assistant)

Auspsych Australia is located in Payneham, South Australia – only 15 minutes from the Adelaide CBD.

About Jill Scott
Jill became interested in psychology in the 1980’s when she began counselling emergency services personnel. She went on to complete her qualifications to become a psychologist, obtaining a Master of Psychology (Clinical). Jill is currently completing a Master in Science, specialising in Pain Management. Jill also has an interest in sports psychology, steaming from her background of playing basketball at a state level.

Jill is a Fellow of the Institute of Private Practicing Psychologists, as well as members of both the Australian Psychological Society’s Clinical College and the Australian Pain Society. She was a past President of the Australasian Critical Incident Stress Association, now known as CIMA (Crisis Intervention and Management Australasia) and has won awards for Excellence in contributing to the field of Critical Incident Stress Management.
Jill has also been published in the International Journal for Anxiety, Stress and Coping.

Services we provide
Jill has a background in defence, emergency services and volunteers. She has an interest in the impact to individuals and families of depression, anxiety and trauma, and more recently, in the management of chronic pain.
She applies her knowledge of pain management in her own practice at Walkerville, and also works part-time in a private pain clinic in Welland.

Jill’s counselling approach is primarily cognitive behavioural therapy, as an evidenced-based practice, but she also practices and teaches mindfulness techniques.

Services are provided to children, teenagers and adults, including a special interest in the elderly.

Jill accepts referrals from a variety of providers, including:
– Veterans and Veterans’ Families Counselling Service (VVCS)
– SA Fire & Emergency Services Commission (for emergency service staff & volunteers)
– Garrison Health Services by Medibank (for Australian Defence Force personnel)
– Return to Work SA (previously WorkCover)
– Motor Accident Commission
– Insurance Agents, such as Allianz, Employers Mutual Limited & Gallagher Bassett
– Department of Human Services (for Disability Support Pension assessments)
– Migration Agents
– GP’s under Medicare
